چکیده

In developing countries, solar cooking technology is considered one of the key measures in dealing with deforestation and environmental pollution. However, their adoption utilization have been insignificant due to social, cultural, technical challenges, among others. For parabolic dish direct cookers, critical most important components system a receiver since its performance greatly affects entire system. This paper presents part findings study which investigated prospects improving systems by focusing on identification prospective heat loss reduction mechanisms receiver. The identified Insulated (IR), Air-filled (AFR), Oil-filled (OFR) receivers Base Circular Rings (BCR) as alternatives Conventional Receiver (CR) System. Tests were conducted using procedures protocols given American Society for Agricultural Engineers (ASAE). test results showed that average power developed was 185 W IRBCR system, 90 OFRBCR 92 AFRBCR 118 CR standardized temperature difference 50oC, PS (50), 291 11 272 142 further revealed overall efficiencies 23% 9% 12% 18% found be 27% IR, 11% OFR, 14% AFR, 21% CR. concluded improved when IR used while magnitudes parameters AFR OFR lower than

AMMONIA RECEIVER DESIGN FOR A 500m DISH

Previous ammonia receiver development has been limited to computational evaluation of receiver geometries. This paper compares six months of experimental data to these simulations. Although the simulation was calibrated with experimental data from the unmasked 20 m 2 dish, the simulated efficiencies for the masked 9 m 2 dish were 2-3 times the magnitude of the experimental simulations. However,...

Ammonia Receiver Design for Dish Concentrators

This paper describes a general method for evaluating receiver designs for ammonia-based energy storage with dish concentrators. The method involves ray-tracing to determine the concentrated solar flux profile on the reactor surface, followed by a simulation which calculates reaction extents and heat losses. In this paper, five receiver designs were investigated with varying cone angles and plac...

Steam Receiver Models for Solar Dish Concentrators: Two Models Compared

1. Abstract This paper presents two approaches developed at the Australian National University for modelling the transient response of a parabolic dish steam cavity receiver. Both approaches are based on a heat transfer model for a cylindrical pipe using a moving-boundary formulation, and feature the ability to model multiple phase flow that changes dynamically. A model simulation is implemente...

Exergy Analysis of a Pilot Parabolic Solar Dish-Stirling System

Energy and exergy analyses were carried out for a pilot parabolic solar dish-Stirling System. The system was set up at a site at Kerman City, located in a sunny desert area of Iran. Variations in energy and exergy efficiency were considered during the daytime hours of the average day of each month in a year. A maximum collector energy efficiency and total energy efficiency of 54% and 12.2%, res...
